2022年1月12日「モバイル英語学習」第725号 (英語エッセイ): Wearing a Mask and Learning a Language

*********************
Since the beginning of the pandemic, people have been wearing masks everywhere. I don’t like to wear masks, and I don’t know anyone who does, but masks can help to stop the spread of Covid-19. Recently, I have found another good thing about masks. They can help you to study a foreign language. You can practice speaking while you are walking outside. Listen to a foreign language with earphones and repeat what you hear. This helps your pronunciation and intonation. Of course, you can do the same thing without a mask, but people might think that you are talking to yourself. If you wear a mask, people in the street don’t really notice when you move your lips.(by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)
